We've now had a week to listen to Kendrick Lamar's new album DAMN., but there are still layers to unpeel. In a new 45-minute video interview with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe, Kendrick opens up about the making of the album, working with Rihanna and U2, taking inspiration from Jay Z and Tupac, his relationship with Barack Obama, "DUCKWORTH." and the challenges of the creative process.

"Everything for me is about execution," Kendrick says. "I can go in with a thousand ideas but if I'm not executing it right it doesn't feel like home to me."
